Sudden Impact Pick'em Pool

Men, Men, Men
27-04-2008

Enough with the notion that this is a "womens" sport.  We are Competitive and Recreational Mixed crews that compete at a high level.  We've had the honor to paddle with the Chilliwack Bruins over the past two season and I can promise you that these elite male athletes can tell you how hard it is.  Come check us out on Cultus Lake!

Dash for Charity - Deep Cove

What an AWESOME event and it didn't hurt that the weather cooperated.  Sudden Impact Black and Blue had a great day and we couldn't be happier with the results.  Great job crews you did us proud!

A huge Kudo's goes out to Michelle, Trishelle, Ea, and the rest of our fundraising committee as the Pub Night at Dukes Pub was a great Success.  Thank-you to everyone that came out and we look forward to the next gathering.

Liquid Silver Has Arrived
27-04-2008
A few weeks ago the Sudden Impact Dragon Boat Team launched the first Youth Dragon Boat Team in the Upper Fraser Valley.  With both Boys and Girls aged 13-18 years old making up the crew we look forward to a new chapter in our development.

The Youth Team will compete at:

FCRCC Spring Regatta - May 3, 2008
Bill Alley Memorial Regatta - May 17, 2008
BC High School Championships - June 1, 2008

We're currently exploring a 4th regatta in late May.

What did you think of the Deep Cove Dash for Charity?
Loved it!
Hate it!
When do we paddle next?

                                                                                               Mission statement

Sudden Impact is a team which purses Dragon boating excellence

with sportsmanship and respect.

It is a place for all paddlers,

regardless of gender age or fitness.

We want to have fun, play hard, and paddle harder.

We strive to enjoy the race, keeping our eyes on the finish line

and making our competition very, very nervous!

BOOM ... that was the explosion the Dragon Boat Community heard in April at the Bill Alley Dragon Boat Festival in 2007 and it echoed until the season ended in September at Kelowna. Once the aftermath had settled Sudden Impact had successfully doubled it's numbers to Sudden Impact Black and Sudden Impact Blue. We also successfully jumped from the top Recreational Divisions to Competitive Divisions. We competed against some of the best teams in the world of Dragon Boating like Kia Ikiaka, Gorging Dragons, Calgary Canoe Club, Los Angles Racing Dragons, and Canadian Medalist the False Creek Canoe and Rowing Club. We competed hard and we showed that with great coaching and heart that you can compete against the best. In 2008 we set our sights even higher as we look to improve on last years 7 top 10 finishes and 3rd place medal at the Vernon Dragon Boat Festival. We're looking forward to expanding our number of regattas in 2008, knowing that the best way to be a competitor is to compete!  We're in our season training mode and look forward to hard work this summer paddling on Cultus Lake, all with an eye to building an even stronger team in hopes of qualifying for the Club Crew Championships .
Of course none of this would be possible without the financial support our generous sponsors. Their belief in us has been part of our inspiration. We hope we'll make you proud!

If you'd like to be a part of the dream, either as sponsor or paddler, come and check us out!!! You won't be sorry you did!

Sound like fun? Come join us! If you're athletic or want to be, if you're a competitor or want to be, if you are fun loving or want to be, Sudden Impact could be the place for you. If not, follow our progress over the 2008 race season and wish us great success!. Paddles up and take it away !
