FEEL THE IMPACT!

In 2008 a Junior Dragon Boat Program was developed to allow youths from the age of 13-18 to experience the true team feeling that makes Dragon Boating the second fastest growing team sport in the world. Sudden Impact LIQUID SILVER consisted of 18-20 kids from the surrounding schools gathered together to compete against youth and adult teams in six regattas last year. At the beginning of the season no one knew how this would turn out but our kids exceeded all expectations and made us proud. They competed hard and with the awesome support of their family and friends they accomplished so much in such little time. We are very proud of our youths and look forward to expanding the program in 2009. As we told them you are the first and no one can take that away from you. With many of our youths returning from last year and with community support and sponsorship we hope it is even bigger and better.

Sudden Impact BLUE originally set out to be a development team has since flourished into a team that has fun and is looking forward to another year to grow into a force in the Recreational and Competitive divisions at various events like Deep Cove, Lotus, Alcan, Harrison, Victoria and Kelowna. Like any team in its second year there were some growing pains but from that we have a great core of paddlers that continue to develop together and created positive team chemistry. They now want to channel that chemistry to launch them forward to 2009. They are planning on attending more regattas and doing even more this upcoming year.
Last year also saw the creation of the RED HOT MOMMA's a combination of women from both Black and Blue teams. They competed hard and look forward the the False Creek Women's event in May 2009.

Of course none of this would be possible without the financial support our generous sponsors. Their belief in us has been part of our inspiration. We hope we'll make you proud!

If you'd like to be a part of the dream, either as sponsor or paddler, come and check us out!!! You won't be sorry you did!

Sound like fun? Come join us! If you're athletic or want to be, if you're a competitor or want to be, if you are fun loving or want to be, Sudden Impact could be the place for you. If not, follow our progress over the 2009 race season and wish us great success!

Paddles up and take it away!
